about us

FEMME was developed by a team of five passionate young individuals from Skydra, Greece, with the support of VINCO Greece, as part of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program. The team members, each with diverse academic backgrounds in education, engineering, health, and public administration, were driven by a shared concern over the lack of menstrual education and support in local schools.

The idea emerged through real conversations with peers and educators who highlighted a serious gap in awareness and resources surrounding menstruation. Inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, FEMME aims to promote gender equality (SDG 5), quality education (SDG 4), good health and well-being (SDG 3), and responsible consumption (SDG 12) through localized and practical initiatives.

FEMME is not just an educational intervention—it is a movement toward period dignity. We aim to:
– Break menstrual taboos and silence.
– Ensure uninterrupted school attendance during menstruation.
– Provide hygiene kits and promote sustainable products.
– Train educators and school staff.
– Create peer-led support systems.
– Influence community attitudes and parental support.
